I enjoyed a specatacular preseason, averaging about 70% - I ended on a down side, but it was still a great ride. I hope it lasts.

Onto the first game of the regular season.

The Pats -3 vs Indy for one unit.

This series goes way back to when these two teams were in the same division. The last time the Colts beat the Pats in Foxboro was in 1995.
During the Manning era, the Pats have pretty much owned Manning and are 5-0 su and 4-1 ats at home, and a combined 8-2 su and ats home and away since '98.

There's only one question to answer here - who's improved; who's better? If anyone here has kept track of the Generals posts for the Colts - and has checked up on the Pats, the answer is easy.

Take the Pats -3

If the line goes to -2.5, I'll be investing another unit on this game.

Good luck!

Thanks Blue, GL to you, but I think you'll lose - sorry!

I've been studying the Pats and the Colts and two things stick out - The Pats offense is much improved over last year, the Colts defense isn't quite as good with a few new faces in key positions - and they still haven't gelled. The Pats defense and the Colts offense are still as good, if not better and both special teams are very good.

Key here is that the Pats are at home, where they just don't get beaten.

The Patriots have owned Manning over the past six years and I don't see that changing - especially in Foxboro, where Manning has been terrible, losing by an average 16 points per game in the 3 games he's played there during the Bellicek era.

I expect the focus on the PI rule to help Manning score at least one TD more than usual; Corey Dillon will gain about 150 yards, opening up the pass attack for Brady; you can expect Pats TE Graham, who's been on the verge of greatness, to bloom this year.

Final score, Pats 38 - Colts 24

Adding 1 unit on a parlay - Pats -3 and over 44.5

Adding 1/2 unit on Pats -1.5 first half.

Good luck!

the latest weather forecast played a significant role in my plays:

Today: Showers early, becoming steady by the afternoon with a few thunderstorms possible. High 77F. Winds SSE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Rainfall may reach one inch. Locally heavier rainfall possible.

Tonight: Rain and a few thunderstorms this evening, followed by occasional showers overnight. Low near 70F. Winds SSW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch.
